Ask me no secrets

and I tell you no lies.

Sworn to secrecy, and threatened with the pain of death, I swim upstream to bring you all a very exciting present - - the infamous extended Eggtown Skate scene.

Thanks to Luanne for helping me get it online to share with you all.

(And just so you know, this came to me from one of my own private sources, and not from anyone who has been claiming to have it. It's my special present for Fishies and Skaters!)

Enjoy!

STFU DOC ARTZ!

Good for The Fish!!!!!!!!!! Just the idea that she has scooped all the people holding this scene hostage and over the Skaters' heads for months is payback enough for me.

Way to go, Fish and Lu!

Thanks so much for rescuing this from oblivion and sharing it with us. Some interesting little differences between this and the version we saw on TV--Kate seemed a little more tender longer, and the music changed later in the scene. But is it only on my computer that Kate's face looks to be so dark in some of those shots?

Phew... now I don't have to worry about posting this. My biggest fear was that the differences were so subtle I'd be chastised for it not being different enough.

This is so great to finally see it after months of waiting and being teased about it! Hahah Doc Arzt now Fish can take the heat if people don't think it's different enough.

Actually, I find the scene interesting. Not that many big differences but...I do think it was a bit more emotional, and edited far better than the one that aired.

The first thing I noticed was that the initial making out was not so badly chopped. Sawyer gave a sexy growl in response when he was doing the flip, and she gave a nice moan right when the wristholding was going on. They didn't cut into her saying to wait so abruptly and it was clear she was very much enjoying the moment. When he wanted to know what he said wrong, they showed a close up of her smiling at him and saying 'Forget it.', then having a tender hand on his face before rolling over to say it again. In the cut version she just rolls away immediately with the second 'Forget it' becoming the first. Tbere's emotional music that starts, after Sawyer says what would have been the worst thing in the world, and when Kate turns away and decides to get out of bed and go back to the beach. She also sounds more bitter when she says 'Goodbye James' (like she's really saying oh you arsehole for saying that) whereas it felt slightly more resigned in the aired version. In this version there is more emphasis on Kate's reaction when Sawyer's talking about how he won't hold it against her. When Kate hits him, you hear her make a grunt of effort at the blow, and also a sound of surprise from Sawyer at the blow. In the aired version there is no sound, just a clean slap and it seems far less brutal because of that.

To me Kate seemed more connected with Sawyer and upset and disappointed with him than in the aired version. In fact I would go so far as saying I understood her reaction a little more. Interesting how the tiniest subtle differences can change the tone of a scene - for me at least.

Pity they didn't keep this version.

Thanks for posting this, Fish! There really are a lot of subtle differences between this and the one that aired. I love the part with Kate's hand on Sawyer's cheek and her smile. :) I'm glad we finally got to see it.

Doc Arzt, seriously? You dangled this over our heads for three months, constantly promising to post it "soon" because you were afraid people would be annoyed the differences weren't big enough? I'm sorry - I really like you and think it's great you prefer Skate as a pairing - but give me a break. You ought to know that shippers enjoy even the smallest things, especially during insufferable hiatuses.

Next time, why not just post it early and let us decide if it's worth it or not? Is it going to break your heart if not every person is eternally grateful? Do you hold off posting spoilers because maybe not everyone will like them? If you mention something like this to a group of shippers, I think you have an obligation to produce it in a reasonable amount of time, and you let us down.

Thanks so much Fish - it's nice to finally see it for ourselves! If you keep out-scooping the big sources, we'll have to start considering you a major player in the Lost blogosphere.

Thanks for posting this Fish, without making us jump through hoops or compete in petty games to get it.

Much respect.

Thanks for posting :D

Why have all the spoiler sources become so full of themselves? Instead of providing spoilers or information to fans they all insist on dangling what they have like chum in the water waiting for the sharks to circle and either hit their sites again and again or beg like trained seals. Dark got his butt scooped last year doing the same damn thing, now Doc got his busted.

Everyone makes fun of Ausiello for his crappy asterisk games and yet they acts like spoiler teases with the very people who have made their sites popular. I hope The Fish gets more of this kind of information and releases it in the same classy manner.

Guys you could learn a thing or two from the lady!

Considering that this was not even a 'spoiler', it should have just been posted outright, without months of discussion and dangling. Thank you for doing the right thing, Fish!

docarzt said...

Nah, there were several other exasperating reasons (I moved, job change, family, free lance work, timing...) but I don't typically dangle something like this for so long. I even gave it to a few people who were overly desperate to see it, I wouldn't be surprised if that is how it goes into the public domain.

Now, though, what is this about me getting my source busted? That's not true.

Anonymous said...

"Butt" busted. Your butt was busted, not your source.

Anywho, thanks for proving the alternate/deleted/varied or whatever you'd call the scene, Fish.

Nice to see you around; it's been too long. ;-)

Darbi,

Doc, you are an alright guy, but those who were overly desperate to see it, were not the ones who gave it to The Fish, as she said in her opening.

Regardless of whatever family or job issues may have been keeping you busy, it's a freaking TWO MINUTE clip. Over the past few months, you had time to post other clips, time to tell us about this one more than once, both on your site AND on Lost-Forum, time to give it to people privately, but not time to upload it to YouTube and pop up a link on your site with a "Hey, it's nothing much, but FWIW, here's that clip I promised you"? Come on. How gullible do you think we are? It doesn't take that long to do these things, as the Fish has graciously proved to us.

Anne said...

I think DocArzt is pretty cool. I prefer his site and spoilers to DarkUFO's now. Let's cut him some slack, people do get busy. I am grateful to the Fish and her source and Luanne, though, for finally getting it out there.

It's not really an important thing, and not a spoiler obviously, but it means a lot to us shippers to see an alternative cut as a bit of an easter egg from the past season.

Kudos. I hope you get some more scoops for the upcoming season.

I love this scene so much,I love her hand on his cheek aw...And there's even the their theme. Why didn't they use this one? It's the same just with those little details which are important, though.

Thanksies Fish! It feels so good to finally see the clip, the only regret is that they didn't use this version instead of the choppy, weird scene we got.

I prefer this version to the actual scene, even the music was better.
And ,Docarzt, no problem,I understand it.

Thank you so much! It takes The Fish to dig up the best of secrets. :D

Thanks Fish! Not much different, but it's always great to see the true class couple of Lost. We better get better than this next year.

I also want to say thanks to Doc Arzt! I love your site, Doc and I appreciate your approach to the spoilers and to the fans. You respect the show and you don't make the fans jump like seals for spoilers.

Sorry but that just makes you look like a wuss. You are a spoiler source and people look to you to get these kinds of scoops, regardless of how big or little the scoop is. If you never intended on posting it because of your 'fear of being chastised' why did you talk about having it in the first place???

I understand that you could have gotten busy as well, but you know that what you and others working in conjunction with you did was a huge tease for people who were interested in seeing this scene after it was dangled in front of our faces for months.

You Go Fish! And Luanne too, thank you for posting what you had when you had it and when you could instead of talking about it incessantly before hand.

Nothing against Doc, but he and/or those who were overly desperate to see it should have shared it with everyone from the get-go.

It doesn’t matter that there were only slight differences between this and the one that was aired. During this long hiatus, everyone knows that we are all desperate for any little bit of information there is.

Thank you, Fish, for generously providing this for us. You are a gem!

Doc has always been a stand up guy and fair to shippers so I am going to cut him some slack. I have no idea why he handled this Skate clip in such a bizarre manner instead of just posting it when he first got his hands on it. Seems like it would have been not just the easy but the right thing to do. I think a lot of the spoiler sources need to stop worrying about what fans reaction will be or how much to release or when to release what they have. Most of all, please don't tell us you have something and then withhold it for months. This piece of film isn't even a spoiler, it's a alternate version that never aired. I can't see any reason such a big deal was made out of posting it. Thanks Fish for doing the right thing.

Anonymous said...

I have no issues with Doc, he has been fair in the past ... but I'm sure it would have taken very little time to put the clip up, and apparently he had the time to email others with it. So no, I don't get it, but it's not a big issue for me. Doc is still okay in my book.

More importantly, thank you Fish and Luanne for bringing the clip to us!

Anonymous said...

Thanks for getting the clip fish. I thought this episode was completely horrible because of this one hacked up scene, but its nice to know there was a more clear explanation to the break up fight, and the editors of this episode were just on crack, lol.

But anyway, thanks. And go Sawyer! I love his angry glare as Kate gives him one final parting glance. Hehe. Shes such a hypocrite.

Anonymous said...

Thank you for posting this scene Fishbiscuit. Thanks to Luanne and equally as importantly, your source too. I enjoyed watching this clip, the little extra touches were good to see. Amazing what editing does to a scene because the overall mood from each is quite different. The choppy editing and shorter clip helped Sawyer and Kate appear angrier with each other this time I guess (in the aired version). Since it took away some of those familiar Skatey moments of love which are more evident in this clip.

I've no problem with DocArzt either, I prefer his site and his style to many others too. Sounds like he has been an extra busy man the last couple of months. I can understand that an alternative Sawyer and Kate scene from the show wouldn't be on top of his list of priorities. We as obsessed shippers may be a little too hard on him for mentioning he had it a while back and I believe he would have given us our fix at some stage... from what I've seen, Doc is genuine when it comes to promises.
