I think someone has to be blind, deaf, and moronic to not see all the SKate anvils being dropped on us this season. I do think that some fanboy theorists are a bit EQ challenged when it comes to parsing out the romantic storylines. An example is that reviewer who tried to rebut the Fish on some other site and all the examples he gave were completely wrong. Talk about not doing any fact checking. He just proved that the Fish has a far better grasp for detail and nuance.

But the interesting part is that people are looking for the most obscure connections to desperately bring Juliet back into Sawyer's story in both realities, meanwhile Kate is there, in big bold letters, getting the B story, crashing into his life for the THIRD time in the sideways, and being the source of Sawyer reconnecting with his friends and becoming the protector again in the original reality. Fireside heart to hearts for the win!

Truly some people cannot see the forest for the trees.

Keep up the good work and don't let the crazy anon bitching get you down!Annehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12486133333644399829noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3542720484561493051.post-12718118633884159952010-03-23T08:26:51.626-07:002010-03-23T08:26:51.626-07:00To the Anonymous who's calling the Fish names,...To the Anonymous who's calling the Fish names, Fishbiscuit doesn't hide behind her moniker. Your analysis of man of the moment Sawyer, and Kate and NotLocke in particular is the best out there, bar none. And what's even better is that all you had to do was use the evidence presented. For one thing, Kate is always such a vital part of Sawyer's story as he is to her story, right from the very first season of this show. So good to see that hasn't changed. And such a pleasure to have your acknowledgement of the fact in your review. As if you could ignore it. This time I have to:
Welcome back Fish and thanks a lot for one of your best reviews. I loved this episode and
reading your review even made it better and I'll watch it the next time with even more desire.
You never disappoint at finding some awesome conections or hints or what-ever-to-call-it:

>>On Detective Ford's desk in L.A., there's a small statue in the corner, a Franciscan monk,
holding a child, perhaps the Christ child, in his arms. It could be St. Anthony, patron saint of
lost things. It adds another grace note to the mystery of Sawyer's purpose on the Island.
Who is Sawyer protecting and how will he be able to do it? Will it be him that has to end up
protecting the Lost Souls by staying behind - or dying - to protect the Lost Island?<<

And the books:
>>Let's start with the books on Sawyer's dresser. All of them are books we've associated with
LOST's most famous reader....
First there's Watership Down, the book "about bunnies" that was left lying on top of Sawyer's
clothes when he was skinny dipping, only to be discovered by ...... Kate.

Then there's A Wrinkle in Time, the book Sawyer was painfully reading right before he was
dragged off for an eye exam by ...... Kate.

And then there's Walker Percy's Lancelot, the book Sawyer was reading the day he gave one
of his guns for a recon mission to ...... Kate.<<

I never could understood all the Kate Hate. I've always thought that Kate genuine loved both men
equally but in different ways. I never thought she was playing the two men.
Even though Sawyer was convinced that Kate had told him to love him and had slept with him only
because he was going to die on Hdyra Island during their captivity in Season 3 I think her actions
did speak volumes. In episode 'I do' you can see for yourself that she really would do anything to
save his life even to sacrifice her own.

Like most others too I was surprised by Sawyer's and Juliettes relationship and I thought they did it
really well and convincing. In the end I even loved it, but as you said: >>You see, LOST is a tv
show that has been weaving the tapestry of its story for more than five long years. And all across
those years there have been certain common threads. In the case of Sawyer, the common thread
from the beginning has been ...... Kate.<<

>>Juliet is as dead as Claire's squirrel baby. This is a show with a history that didn't start last year.
Sawyer's moving on and so can we all. It's time.<<

I absolutly agree with Dezdemona:
>>I love the way you put the Sawyer and Kate journey together,
one little touchstone at a time. They're a team again by the end of this episode. Can't wait to see
the rest of their journey! Thanks for doing such a great job with my two favorite characters.<<

Keep up the great work Fish!Denisenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3542720484561493051.post-90451224117958405972010-03-21T01:17:11.895-07:002010-03-21T01:17:11.895-07:00I wish Ben, Frank, Miles and Sawyer would form an ...I wish Ben, Frank, Miles and Sawyer would form an elite undercover team for the LAPD, called S.N.A.R.K..
